My Asus EEE PC 900A with Linux

hallo jens A couple of months ago I bought a Asus EEE PC 900A. It came with Xandros Linux, which was new to me.

Usually working with Linux running on server hardware, I decided to explore Xandros Linux on the EEE PC thoroughly. Here are some of my results: 
After using Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex on a CF card for some month I finally
dropped Xandros and installed Intrepid Ibex on the SSD instead. I
did not have any SIGSEGVs since then, so I'm pretty sure that it
was a Xandros software bug. 


 
2008-12: The mysterious 30 sec boot delay has gone after updating the
BIOS from version 0403 with BIOS-Date: 08/04/2008 to version 0607
with release date 09/24/2008.


So for me this update saves 30 secs.


ASUS does not give any changelog information.
